Amish Friendship Bread Starter

*Do not use a metal spoon or bowl.
*Do not refrigerate.

Starter:
1 cup flour
1 cup sugar
1 cup milk

Put these ingredients in a large Ziploc bag. Toss the bag on your counter and you are ready to start. Each day for the next ten days, you will do something with the bag. When you finish the starter will be ready. You will need to print the instructions to give to four of your friends along with the starter. Go back to my cookbook to print the instructions without the starter included.

Day 1- do nothing.
Day 2,3,4,& 5 mush bag.
Day 6 add one cup of flour, one cup of sugar and one cup of milk to bag and mush.
Day 7, 8, & 9 mush bag and let air out.
Day 10 add one cup flour, one cup sugar and one cup of milk to bag. Then stir with a wooden spoon. Put (4) one cup starters into large Ziploc bags and give to friends.

Put what is left into large bowl and combine with;
1 cup oil
1/2 cup milk
3 eggs
1 tsp. of vanilla

Mix well.

In a separate bowl mix:
2 cups flour
1 cup sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 large box instant vanilla pudding
2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 cup chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)

Add dry ingredients to wet mixture and mix thoroughly. Pour into 2 large well greased loaf pans that have been coated with a sugar and cinnamon mixture. Sprinkle extra cinnamon and sugar on top.

Bake at 325* for 1 hour.
