Pinecone Candles
or Firestarters
You Will Need
-
Paraffin candle wax
-
Candle Wick
-
Candle Dyes (optional)
-
Essential Oils
(optional)
-
Heavy Pot (to melt wax)
-
Pinecones
-
Tongs (to hold and dip
the pinecones)
-
Wax paper (to dry
candles on)
Directions
Wind candle wick
through the "leaves" of the pinecone, starting at the bottom and working your
way up.
Make sure you have enough wax in the pot to submerge an entire cone!! Melt
more wax in the can if you need to. Take your tongs, grab a pinecone
bottom and dip the cone in the wax. Turn it to coat all over. Lift the
cone over the wax for a few moments to allow the wax to harden. Dip again until
well coated.
Repeat with all the
pinecones. Add more wax and scent as needed. Place pinecones on waxed
paper to cool. Let harden completely. |
