One of our favorite summer activities is to go camping as a family.  Ok, Jody and the girls really enjoy it, I go along because I really enjoy them.  Jody has been a camper all of his life, his parents would go camping for days or weeks at a time while he was young and the love of the outdoors has really stuck with him.  Our girls love to camp out, visit the lake and go fishing.  I did some camping as a kid myself, but I wasn't ever a big fan of the outdoors.  I do find that I am enjoying more this time around, especially seeing the girls have a good time.

My favorite part of camping is the campfire - I love the warmth, the light, and of course toasting all kinds of yummy things over the campfire.  We have discovered that you can roast bologna over the campfire and it tastes like a flat hotdog.  We have also discovered that toasting funyans is not such a great idea.  lol

Jody and the girls really enjoy fishing as well.  When they decide to do that I tag along, but usually have a book in hand instead of a pole.
