Music plays an
incredible role in our family, especially my husband's side.
It began with my father-in-law who played country music. He
even went as far as being offered a position in the touring band
of Earnest Tubb, but turned it down to dedicate time to his
family.

This is Bob in 1969 when he
visited Nashville
Later on, he began
playing again, this time for fun. By that time my husband
was 15 and became the drummer in his dad's band. This band
was where my husband learned to play the drums. A year or so
later, Jody formed a band of his own, this one playing more
classic and punk rock. This band was really a family affair,
it consisted of Jody, his two cousins and his best friend (who is
more like a brother). The boys as they are known around here
still get together once in a while, but nothing like they used to.
My husband is now
continuing the music in our family, he is teaching Krista how to
play the drums and the guitar. Music is a wonderful tool that helps keep
our family connected. Oh, remember how I said it was
especially on my husband's side? I also play a little music,
but mine is more classical. I played clarinet for several
years in the school band and am now teaching Sydnee to play the
recorder to get her started.
