Tips and Tidbits

To anyone from the south this is a very common recipe (we drink iced tea more than water around here). While traveling I have found that this is not the case for all parts of the country and so I have add this recipe, it really is a staple in our home.

Sweet Iced Tea

6 tea bags (we use Lipton)

1-2 cups sugar to taste

Place tea bags in a small sauce pan and cover with cold water. Heat to boiling and turn off fire. Allow tea to sit and steep for about 15 minutes. Pour into a gallon pitcher, discarding tea bags. Mix in sugar and add cold water to fill. Serve over ice with lemon wedges or mint leaves if desired.
